Judy Baca is an Associate Professor of Social Work at Colorado State University-Pueblo (formerly University of Southern Colorado), with over twenty-five years of academic experience. She teaches courses in Social Work and Chicano Studies.
Ms. Baca is a certified social worker and consultant. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology and Behavioral Science from the University of Southern Colorado in 1977, and a Masters in Social Work from Arizona State University in 1979. Areas of expertise include social work education, field education, diversity and cultural perspectives of practice; area of interest in education and health in the Chicana community with an emphasis on curanderismo (folk healing).
She has various community interests that include but are not limited to: culture, education and health in the community, state and national levels, leadership opportunities for students within our community, educational opportunities for students with an emphasis on higher education, educational policy and curriculum and program development addressing the diversity within the community.
